For someone who’s not especially passionate about technology, but looking for a digital frame combining ease of use and picture quality, I am not disappointed by this framework. The simplicity of the menu is just perfect. It is easy to configure with its tactile keys. Impeccably rendered images, digital keys very effective, a very good product that I recommend. The device is simple to use and takes over in less than 10 minutes. Beware, however: around the part photo, part is high and published the picture a bit small, some might be disappointed by the size of photos. The viewing angle is good except from below, which darkens the picture (nothing serious).

Reads all kinds of photo files and reads some videos and something that I wasn’t expecting happened – there was even sound with the videos!
I would add that is is capable of playing a real movie recorded on a USB stick. It can do fine as a portable DVD player, but pity we can’t transfer the power supply. But this can be helpful during the holidays, for example.
The description is correct, sufficient functions. An 8 digital photo frame is fine when it does not replace the TV.
The only downside is that it is a bit slow.
Actually, I got two of these. One for me and one for as a gift to someone who is not familiar with technology and yet she had no problems using it. Very simple and intuitive.
One of the best value for money. Still, I am thrilled with this purchase and I can not commit the Internet to try this framework.

Samsung SPF-87H 8

Here we go again. After the Sony digital frame review – the time has come to write a few words about a Samsung digital photo frame.

After buying an a mobile phone and an LCD TV from Samsung, I noticed that they actually put money in the development of their products and that their products are of high quality. As soon as I started getting ideas about buying a 8 digital photo frame I started doing a search on the picture frames that Samsung had. One of the first thing that I noticed when I unboxed the frame was it’s weight and how thin it was. Incredibly thin, really. Just 23 mm frame. And needless to say that it was very lightweight, it only weights 1.1 pounds. Has a quality and strong glass and is covered by a shining plastic which makes it look nice.
After turning it on I just got more and more amazed by it. The manu that it has is very straight-forward and you can use it with ease. Very user-friendly! The slideshow options are also interesting and the transition between pictures can be set up the way you want. It’s got a good clear picture, and SD cards as well as ports for USB flash drives. It has an internal memory of 1GB and you can always get more by buying an SD card. That will allow you to store thousand of photos on it. It’s screen resolution is 800×400, has a contrast ratio of 500:1 and 200 cd/m2 brightness. This product is also Eergy StarĀ® Qualified. Pretty impressive.
If you intend to use it as a secondary monitor, I don’t recommend doing that. I tried it but I’m not impressed by its performances. Another thing that I like about it is the auto on and off function. It can be very useful.
My final thoughts about it are that it’s a good and quality product, as anything else that is made by Samsung. I use it at my desk at work and must say that I’m very satisfied with it. It can contain up to a few hundred pictures on its internal memory. I’ve put entire photo albums of my family on it and it’s always nice to look up and see a familiar face even when stressing at work. If it sounds like you could use one 8 digital photo frame just like this one – then go for it! It is the right choice. Don’t chose some cheap alternative only to spend $50 on phone conversation with their support team.

Sony DPF-D82 8-Inch

We present you the 8 digital photo frame from Sony – DPF-D82. A good looking frame, with interesting clean design and easy to use. Just plug it in and use the remote to set it up. It weights about 3.7 punds and its dimension are: 13.5 x 9 x 4.2 inches. On Sony’s fine print it says it can hold up to 2000 images with it’s internal memory of 1GB. Of course, you will be happy if you fit 200 images in it, but you’ll probably put less. I don’t suppose anyone will be putting images of 100kb, am I right? But the internal memory is a good thing and it’s pretty big. Remember that you can always buy additional cards for it. It support the following types of card slots: SD, MS, xD, and CF.

It also has an alarm function included and it has the ability to auto-rotate the images. It’s made in a way that only Sony can make – an incredibly user-friendly way and it is really easy to set up and use. You will have no problem with that. And maybe one of the most important factors – the picture quality. Although it has a WVGA resolution of 800 x 480, the picture quality is surprisingly good and with a very vivid color. It has a screen aspect ratio of 15:9, which is a little unusual, but fine. Unfortunately you do not get any special accessories with this item. The pictures can be presented in 3 different ways. As single pictures, slideshow presentation or as multiple thumbnails. It also contains a cool search function to easily go through and find your images.

A thing that I have heard people were complaining about is the customer support that they got from Sony. A guy that I know also bought this product and has had some weird problems with it, when copying pictures form his MAC to the frame. Eventually he solved the problems, but took him a while. It is not a common problem for MACs, though. This was just something that he messed up. If you do encounter any problems with this 8 digital photo frame you can always come here and leave a comment and we will reply as soon as possible.

With its sleek and good looking black design, the Sony DPF-D82 8 Digital Photo Frame sure leaves a good impression on the buyers. I believe it is only available in black. The price has been over $100 usually, but I think you can get it at Amazon for about $100 or less.

Digital photo frames have become more popular over the last years and are now something that can easily replace your regular non-digital photo frames. The digital ones, of course, have a lot of advantages. Most of them come in sizes from 7″ to 12″. Some of the older digital frames only support JPG files, while the news one support a lot more files. Even files like mp3, mp4, wav are supported. So, basicaly you can play an mp4 movies on your frame. I’m sure that’ll get the attention of your guests. Besides that, it also has a slideshow option. You can set the slideshow timer the way you wish.
Be careful when setting up your pictures. if your digital frame is set to show landscapes, long-sided pictures on the bottom, then you have to rotate your pictures before uploading them onto the frame. In Vista and Windows 7 you can do the rotation by opening the picture and just click the rotating arrows.
Another factor that’s important is the screen resolution. I don’t recommend getting a frame with a resolution lower than 1024×768. But I’ll talk more about the resolution and the aspect ratio in an upcoming article. Besides that some of the frames can have internal memory. If you take your pictures with cameras of 8mpx or higher then you’d need quite an internal memory to place, say 20 pictues. I’ll talk more about internal and external memory later.
In conclusion – a digital photo frame sure is a great thing to have. It’s not that expensive, and if you’re a picture-lover person then you shouldn’t be thinking much about buying it.
